SUNRISE, SUNSET

These nine paintings feature a day's sunrise and sunset, as seen near her home. Warm colors border each painting, and subtly grow lighter and darker to reinforce the twice daily transitions. Catching both sunrise and sunset is often a difficult pursuit, as the business of daily life pulls us away from witnessing these moments. The goal with this work is to continue trying to be present, to make space in our lives to slow down and notice the world waking and falling asleep.
